Is this Normal
Mainly a question for parents.....
Would you let 6 yr old child share bed with you and your wife/partner? i could understand a baby but is 6 not too old? My partners kid sometimes sleeps in her bed when i'm away and last night as she had a friend staying over she wanted him to sleep in the bed with me and her, to me this just isn't normal. I can remember coming to my mum and dads bed in the mornings sometimes but never sleeping there. |

I think it's OK occasionally with your own kids when they are young - and 6 is young.
Probably not a good habit to get into on a regular basis. Sometimes when my kids have nightmares they'll get onto bed with Mum. In the situation you describe I would get a temporary bed made up for the kid somewhere, either from sofa cushions or airbed or something. |

I think the word 'normal' is very subjective when it comes to children. They're all different. Some thrive on the whole 'independence' thing...so get scared of it and feel safer when they're with their parents.

not having kids myself, but watching/listening/talking to friends who do, id say it was normal to a point (as you say nightmares etc) but if your mrs is requesting it, to me thats a little odd, its normally the kid asking to do it out of fear of the dark/bogeyman etc
