Looking for oil filter wrench
Anyone know of store locally that would sell the oil filter wrench for e90 (335i)?
I have read that you if you have a really good grip you can take it off using your hands or by using a strap wrench. But I wouldn't mind buying one just in case. If anyone know of a local store, please let me know. I want to avoid ebay. |

It would be much more easier to have one but I don't think it's really necessary. The cap isn't torqued to the point where it is difficult to turn by hand (18ft/lbs or 25NM). But if you really want to get one, ECSTuning has one for about $25 (before shipping).

I bought mines on ebay and love it ($10).
Turning it by hand isn't always easy. Takes a lot of effort to do the initial break ( a lot). This filter socket shaved 15-20 minutes for me. |

All you folks that bought the ebay Volvo/BMW tool:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VOLVO-Cap-St...c5965e&vxp=mtr Are you able to torque the cap to spec without the tool flexing or damaging the cap..? I was going to get it, but my experience with the steel ones isn't as good as the cast Aluminum ones. The Al ones are a little beefier and don't flex at all, but the steel ones can slightly flex. If that happens, the torque is off and the flexing ends up damaging the plastic cap. Thanks!
