Is this tire safe to put on?
Hi,
I ran a nail on one of my rear RE760 near the sidewall, i been having bad luck with these tires. I have an extra re760 255/35r18 that was patched but i noticed that some part of the sidewall is chipped off. Is this tire safe to put on? |

I would only use that for an emergency or for transport to the tire shop.

That appears to be really too close to the side wall. Check w/the pro's, but I wouldn't feel confortable.
I replaced my RFT's w/Hankooks, which are relatively cheap for the performance and reliability ($170'ish for rears, $130'ish for fronts) and I couldn't be happier. (fix a flat in trunk). GL |
