Love the new ones, not a huge fan of the electric-assist steering, but I must admit when I drive around in my wife's F30 I forget about it pretty quickly.

Not a coupe guy myself, but will probably trade the E90 in for an F30 within 3-4 years.

Couldn't agree more. The 4 is getting too big and too expensive. the 4 looks nice but I think it's not enough driver-focused to be a proper enthusiast car. I'm very excited about the M2, hoping it'll fill that role and take after the 1 Mcoupe, assuming it looks good and has good steering lol.

I'm keeping my E90 for at least the next 5 years (when nothing bad happens in the meantime). Then I would love to get a nice second hand F32.

Plan to keep my 335i as a daily till it becomes more expensive to maintain then buying a new car. Everyday I get out of my car with a huge smile.

Thinking M4 in a couple years as my fun car though, twin turbo M sounds fantastic.

F32 looks good except the ass ... looks like ass. Liking the interior options as well.

Keeping my e92 for a while though.

I'm with on the beak. You get it on the 5-series as well, so if one sticks with Bmw it's one thing I'll have to get used to.
I like the looks of the F30 in person, will have to take one for a testdrive the upcoming summer and see if the urge grows...

+1 I keep my car for about 6 yrs or longer if they don't give me any problems. IMHO, the 335i convertible with the M-Sport Pkg has a classic look and always gets complements. When I was younger I used to trade every 2 yrs or so, now every 6 yrs or longer as long as I get every time I drive it. My SuperBee is modified, has over 103k miles and at WOT a every time. No need to waste money.

I had no regrets on passing on the F30, but the new F32 4 series looks really good to me. But I already have a E90 335i and E82 135i in the garage, so I may have to sit this generation out.

One thing to note is that it's interesting to see BMW market the F32 coupe as a 4 series. Sure, it's slightly bigger than the F30, but not enough to account for the 2K Euro premium over the sedan.

Rather, I believe BMW is very smart in marketing it as a 4 series, thus allowing them to charge that slight premium. This is because BMW sells a lot less coupes than sedans, and for those of you familiar with manufacturing or supply chain, you know all about volume discounts, and efficiencies of scale.

It's a slick move by BMW to increase the gross margins on the coupe. Plus it looks like the new styling is a winner. A potential 'Game Changer' in the sporty luxury coupe segment imo.

Not really, but since they are calling it the 4 series I'm lead to believe that they want to make it more upscale than the 3, just like the 6 relates to the 5. I'm expecting the 435i to be ~60K nicely optioned out (Comparable to a 55k 335i). Too much for me.
On the driver focus part, i don't like the way the F30 communicates to the driver, felt like I was driving a Merc. My e92 is already about as heavy as i like a car to be, but the steering saved it for me. Add electric steering to a 3600lb car, and I'd be very (delightfully actually) surprised if it's as fun to drive as my 335i. If it drives the same as an F30, I'll be looking at the smaller, lighter M2, especially if it takes after the 1M. I love the 1M, but i can't get past its looks lol.

i'm planning to keep my e92 for a while.. especially when i just bought my first bimmer this year lol i'm excited to add some mods to my car... gotta wait until spring though

the f32 is nice and all.. but i find it too big .. especially for a girl like me lol not a huge fan of the cupholders... i like the location of it .. just not the weave thing. not sure about the rear/front bumpers... it just looks like a big hole..lol the headlights are different... i kind of prefer the circle lights. lol overall.. it's a nice looking car ... maybe i'm just not so into that futuristic concept car yet...

You forget that the E92 had more standard options than the E90.

The F32 will have more standard features than the F30 so the 3k-ish price increase is more than reasonable.

With a daughter going to college in 3 years. Anything That is not already in my driveway or garage is too expensive.

Fifty or sixty large buy a good chunk of college.

You guys crack me up.

For the record: I initially hated my e90, coming from an e46. I was semi-depressed for the first couple of weeks, and then it got better. It grew on me. Now I love it. It's the cycle of life. Now that my e90 is up for sale, I miss it a lot. There are some things that the e90 does better than the f30, and other things the f30 does better. It's all about your priorities and preferences.

The steering is not bad as others make it sound. It is actually enjoyable. Is it a purists dream? No. Does it feel like a BMW, I'd say yeah, pretty much. You can feel its different personalities with the different driving modes. BUT, once you put it in sport/+ mode, it feels just like the e90 if not better (albeit in an artificial kind of way). And for the record, the guys who designed the f30 steering, are the exact same group of dudes which designed your e90 steering. They know how it "should" feel. They wrote the book. In summary, the electric steering does not define this new BMW, but it sure does make for a good excuse to knock it.

What sold me on the f30 was the total package. It's just a better 3 series. And I am fairly certain the f32 will be a better coupe (in most ways) than the e92. Come out of the closet guys!

Now, you can get hung up on the fact that the f30 has electric steering and what not, just like people were hung up on the fact that the e90 had runflats, felt plasticky on the inside, rattles a lot, terrible dash, bland interior, was bloated and drove like a wounded cow -compared to the e46- but you get used to it. (just head over to e46 fanatics, and do some research. Read some threads from 05, 06, 07, and see what was being said about the e90/92).

Before I made up my mind about the f30, I spent 3 days and 300 miles driving a f30 328i sport, as part of an extended test drive, back to back with my e90 330i. All-in-all, in all honestly, it is a better BMW. And the n20 is amazing! You may disagree with some of the design qeues or object to certain esthetic elements BMW implemented in this car, and that's fine, but there's no reason to knock it, because it will probably be your next car too.

And the f32 is shaping up to be an animal too (the concept is a bit exaggerated). I am sure you too will love it, because we love BMW's and that's what we do around here! Com'on now, it's lower, wider, has a wider front and rear track and a longer wheelbase. That's a good start!

Just traded in my 06 e90 for a 09 e92. I always loved the look of a black e92, and jumped on the deal when the opportunity came my way (Loaded to my taste, CPO and extended maintanence till Dec 2015). Now I couldnt be happier, and ill be in my e92 for a long time.
