My custom E92 M3 rear bumper (non wide bodied)

Ok ya'll I have had alot of people asking me about my rear bumper. I wasn't able to get more details pics, but hopefully this will give you an idea of end up happening....

So this is the start:
Stock e92 bumper

Stock e92M rear bumper

This is what we are trying to accomplish:

As you can see, as it lays on the non-m bumper, the very top and around the fenders were cut on the stock M3 bumper. The only thing that does not bolt right up is around the fenders where the rear widens out.

This is the basically how everything looks once its molded together

We found out that the rear support have to be modified in order to get a snug factor fit we wanted. I do not have pics of modified rear support, but if you decided to do this keep this in mind.

After paint and about a two weeks of work:

EXHAUST:
You WILL HAVE TO change out exhaust. You will not be able to use stock exhaust.

Sorry pics are blurry (all I had was my iphone 3gs):

after both sides were cut:

I do not know the exact magnaflow muffler they used, but he said it was a mustang muffler

We did the left side first. About and 6" elbow was added in order to get the new muffler to line up with the cut outs for the muffler it was not and exact 90 degree elbow probably around 50 degrees or so:

I purchased two 3.5" double walled "Y" exhaust tips from ebay,

they were suppose to be screw on but we welded them.

Then we did the right side:

And the finished product:

Hopefully this week I'll be able to get some sound clips

Its actually not as pricey as you think, I bought each oem bumper for like $100 each from different forum members. Honestly this is about as easy as molding a front lip. Just have a little cutting to do. Then you would mold like normal. It just so happen my paint guy loves to hack up stuff. And considering all 4 cars I have ever had, my paint guy have painted so I have a LONG time relationship with.

I was told that it wasn't cost effective since there was not a lot of demand for them. I just laughed and the person that told me laughed also. He said he contacted their distributor and thats what the distributor said. But my guy said when he get some times and I'm not doing any shows he has someone that can blow a few molds. So I'm going to get with him hopefully within the next few months.

Very clean, but would it have been easier to just buy a replica M bumper?
