that happens you insert the fob

Fresh past 1K miles on my car and I get the service engine light. I did a quick search on e90post.com and I found this from one of the threads

Can someone elaborate on the above posts? Thank you. My oil has been ~200 or below but right after that light I looked and it was at ~250.

Any advice on how to proceed (what to say to SA/Dealership Rep) would be extremely helpful and appreciated!

just gotta do a search , its been beaten to death (AKA FUEL PUMP FAILURE)

however your problem may not be fuel pump... it could be low washer fluid, low oil, etc... dont go crazy until they tell you its a fuel pump.

just call the dealer and ask them if you can drop by for a quick look ?

Why not simply take it in to the dealership and have them pull the code(s)? A service engien soon by itself can be millions of things.

Thanks for the help. I took it to Savage BMW yesterday morning.

It was the gas cap. Apparently I did not twist it tightly enough. The light disappeared after I aired it out and drove it around a bit.

Yep, that would do it.
