CSL wheels on E92 335i
I have a set of CSL wheels from my old E46 M3.
I've seen a few pics of some forum users with CSLs fitted to their cars but I've also read about some wheels fitting some E92s and not the larger-engined variants so I'm a bit confused as to whether they will fit or not! They are in the back of my Dads shed so before I go to the hassle of trying to get them out, will they fit my 335i? They have standard CSL size tyres - 235/35 R19 on front, 265/30 R19 on the back! It'd be good to see some pics of any sapphire black E92s on CSLs to inspire me too! Thanks for any help! |

The trouble with genuine CSL wheels is the rear wheels, they have an offset of ET27 which is very aggressive on the E92,where the standard offset for a 9" x 19" wheel is ET39.
The genuine CSL wheel is 9.5" x 19",so is already slightly wider than the stock E92 wheel at 9",so with a 265/30/19 tyre it will rub,not perhaps all the time, but it will rub over speed humps, undulating road surfaces, and with a loaded boot,or with rear seat passengers. The front CSL wheel is OK ET44,but will need a 10mm spacer to push the wheel/tyre out further, to fill the arch out nicely. Smaller tyre size - 255/30/19 would be a better option, but even with that,it could still rub,or to save a lot of hassle get your rear arches rolled.

x2. A 9.5 et27 wheel is basically the same as running an 18mm spacer on the rear of an oem 19x9 et39. I have customers in the past who have fitted M3 fitment CSL's to their E92 3 series with no issues (albeit running a 255/30/19 tyre) and some who have reported slight rubbing issues. A small arch roll will cure the problem and allow you to run the 265/30/19 tyre. Regards, Chris. |
