what is this service warning light, and why isn't it in my owner's manual?

could be "time to change brake fluid". Mine has a date like this on the CBS. Should be roughly two years from last change.

I believe it's brake fluid service required.

Brake fluid service if yellow, some sort of brake failure that needs immediate attention if red. If you keep the service button pushed for a while when this is showing, it'll give you a ccid code that you can google for more details.

It appears that you are 2 months overdue for a brake fluid change. (See Service Requirements in your manual - p77~78 in the online 2007 version.)
