My first set of NT555R about done right now. I think they'll be right at 5000.

When I had the Toyo R888s, it was about the same mileage.

NT555Rs hook up better on the highway and at the strip(obviously). The ones I have are a little taller ~26" (285/35-18), so it lengthens your gears. You'll also need about a 45 offset on your rims.

Toyos were better than any other regular tire, better than the NT555R in a turn, but not as good on the hwy.

i think im going to give the nt555r a try, the nt05r are overkill right for a mostly street car?

Running FBO with no more than 420rwtq, you shouldn't worry too much about traction. It's when u go to higher power levels, 450+, is when real traction problems start... I say go with any tires that are better than shitty run flats and u'll be fine

Why not PSS? They hook second with no LSD a little past 400whp when new, they are awesome down to 32F, awesome in the rain, and last 30k+ in the rear and closer to 50-60k in the front.

For what you're looking, DRs would be a COMPLETE waste of money. Stick with the R888s, they're a high performance street tire that you'll actually be able to enjoy on the road
Not trying to hate but he didn't mention anything about cost. He may have a connection at a tire shop or may have a lot of money to blow. It sounds like the OP knows he's going to get 8k or less miles on them and has factored in any costs into what he's trying to accomplish. Of course getting a second set of wheels would be ideal, but maybe he doesn't want to deal with it and would rather pay to have traction all the time, street or track.

X2 not really concerned about thread wear as long as i could get at least 10k out if the set

No, they really don't. Once I installed the Cobb, I began having serious traction issues in 2nd gear, whereas previously I would just chirp them with the JB4. I'm installing my Wavetrac BECAUSE the PSS weren't enough.
