Help with wheel locks - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

I need help getting my wheel locks off of my car, can someone give me some ideas to try and get them off or is there anyone in the northern jersey area who would be able to help me get my wheel locks off. I was going to take my wheel off and when I went to take off the stud that needs the key, my key broke. I have a tool that you can hammer onto the end of the stud and it holds the outside but there is a ring that spins to prevent them from bing taken off that way. This is what the key looks like

and heres a picture of the stud I need to get off

Is the stud broken? Or is it just the key? The key can be replaced for 15 bucks from your local BMW dealer or through the company that makes it - McGard. You just have to give them the ID card number inside the acreage that comes in your glove box. If the stud is broken then I have n idea since its wheel lock. Though my first inclination would be BMW since they typically have the tools to deal its this (I've token a wheel lock myself).

take it to any wheel shop (tire shop) they can get them off without any issue. Just have to replace bolts. You can also have the dealer order you a new key.

I wasn't sure how I would get a new key because I didn't know anything about the locks they were just on there when I got the car, but I found the card in the manual booklet thing(not sure what to call it) and I'm gonna go to BMW and see if they can order me a key, thanks for the advice.

Not a problem, they may tell you to call McGard directly which is also easy.

It looks like part of the key has sheared off in the wheel lock itself, should be able to fish that out with some needlenose pliers

Had the exact same problem- tire shop over torqued them on and had to get it off with an air chisel
