A 2006 6 is not hard disk based - it uses a DVD.

Out of interest, are the 2013 Premium maps the same for the E9x as the F3x? Would anyone know? These are purely map and POI data surely so wouldn't they be the same?

Guys you can just copy the files to 16 gig USB sticks, or stick even - and load from the port in the glovebox.

I have the files on my laptop, downloaded from a well known sailing affiliated torrent site.

I'm yet to do the upgrade because I'm a lazy c*nt basically. Going to email sieras5 when I need a code

Yes the only difference will be whether sieras (gpsunderground.net to ask him ! ) is able to generate an activation code for the Fxx models yet. I imagine the algorithms have changed, but he's usually very quick to catch up.

CIC, with or without combox - will work fine. It's still CiC nav so don't see any other issues ?

Siera's code worked for my F10 so I'm guessing the F30 will be OK. You won't fit all the files on a 16Gb memory stick - there's three files each just over 8Gb.

I've 2 pens.

Disc 1, pen 1. Disc 2, pen 2.
Replace pen 1 with disc 3 while pen 2 loading.
Disc 3, pen 1.

Simple!

Easier than finding a CD writer for me as non of my machines have them any more, hehe...

I can't rely on people sending me the discs every year like last year

What I meant was there is no point in somebody posting you a single 16Gb stick expecting to get all the files on for you to return to them.

I wanted these disks/discs/whatever just so I could copy for some unspecified future use (friends, forum members etc) and then I'll post on. However, I read over on the F3x section that some cars came with 2012 and so they might actually be handy for me. I also read that the activation code hadn't been needed in some instances, probably due to the upgrade being installed so soon after the original 2012 maps.

I've got a 32gb pen drive? Would that not work then? Ie if have to burn images to disc? I've got a 2011 MacBook Pro so I'm guessing it will write dual layer discs? Ill have to check.

not sure where we're up to on this but could I be added to the end of the list? Based up in Durham and our X3 currently has the 2011i maps which don't even have our street on it - hoping this one might solve that!
