Open the cover of the rain sensor
Tape the wires inside the cover
The switch will be positioned on the top, between the two parts of the cover

But back the battery (if you want, you can use the 12 V source coming from the car )
Wrap your remote with something to ovoid any electrical contact.

Only the switch remain outside of the cover, then just push the button and thatís it!

This DIY is completely reversible.

I will take a picture and post it later. The swith is located on the top of the rain sensor, so it's really invisible. But you can put it in another place.

+1, Guess this should be added to the master diy list.

From what I can tell he put it up in his rear view mirror top center of the windshield. The button is on the bottom of the rain sensor.

How did you remove the cover? Just pull hard? I like the mod, just that it's a bit involved just to change the battery.

The swith is located just under the rubber between the rain sensor and the roof. The wires keep the swithc in place, but you can use glue. As I said before we can connect to power of the remote to the 12 V of the car, This mod is available with the DIY - Clown nose blinking LED. But if you are leasing the car, it's better to change to battery once a year!

To open the rain sensor, just use a credit car to separate the two parts. It's very easy also to close.

Depending of the size of your two remote, maybe you can put them togethe inside, open the rain sensor and try it before. There's no effect on the rain sensor. Mine's work perfectly!

I really like this. Touble is, when look at the back side of my garage door opener's insides, it isn't so obvious as to where to solder the new wires.

The small switch or any other swith can be found at a specilazed spare electronic store, probably at Radio Shack. If you don't fin one, try to get one from an old electronic device like the reset switch of an old computer.

The new switch needs to be connected with the wires to the connections of the actual remote switch.
