correct, unless you buy a 335i mtech rear bumper it should come with a diffuser, if not then you will need to buy both.

I had a very similar accident in the exact spot and even though it was in a parking lot, the other party's car tore 3 tabs. Judging by your last picture, you might be better off with a new rear bumper since there might be tab(s) torn as well. Ultimately, if you pay for insurance, use it.
335 or not, if you buy a new bumper from a vendor it'll come with a diffuser unless for some odd reason it's stated otherwise.

Neither should young irresponsible asshats (not you WhyCry), nor drunks or potheads.
I know "old people" that can driver better than many of us, and have better driving records too. I'm 37, so don't look at me lol

Everywhere you look youll find bad drivers, it isin't specific to certain group, race, or sex. That being said.. ill give you old people.. probability of an old person being a dangerous driver is exponentially higher. Hope you get the problem fixed soon OP, let us know how much the repair costs |

Really, so you'd rather rear-end someone yourself? At least let the tailgater take the fall.

Very true. And it's definitely not reported because the dealer will just patch it up.

I disagree. Trucks are much more careful because they have to be. They don't have the quick reflexes and will not tailgate or change lanes without looking/signaling. They know they can't stop on a dime. Now, I'm not saying there aren't a few bad apples, but they are rare.

For the Carfax, make some friends at a few shops and don't be afraid to ask. Usually, its just a matter of money. If it comes from you, you might be able to keep it off the report. If its through insurance, just a about no chance (short a paperwork error)

Until you get behind an 18 wheeler, and then you notice how hard it is to do your job with a fully loaded trailer while a stupid mini or smart car cuts in front of you. Or you're trying to switch lanes and a car hovers in your blindspot....

Couldn't agree more. People treat 18-wheelers like crap on the road. I tend to treat them with caution since they can easily turn my car into mush.

Replacing these parts yourself is not hard at all. There are many write ups about R&R the rear bumper. The same goes for the position sensor. I would also wait to see what the compression styrofoam looks like before doing anything. Actually the foam sold at Home Depot or Lowe's can be used to fill in any compressed styrofoam.
All in all the best plan is to take the old bumper into the paint shop with the new bumper and have them match the paint and also paint your position sensor at the same time. As long as you can drive something else for a few days you should be good to go. |

For someone who has a lot of strong opinions on other drivers being excluded from the road why exactly should you be allowed on the road?
