Well, I could find the fuse box (behind the glove box), but the instructions say to remove the glove box and I couldn't figure out quite how to do that without possibly breaking it. Maybe there is a DIY on it, I will do a search.

Mine has a guide showing which fuses go to which, hang on I will grab it and see if I can figure out which goes to the wipers. But I have an 09 not an 06 so it might be different.

So the wiper symbol indicates 01, 50 and 79. But then the fuse box diagram indicates two wiper symbols in the upper left hand corner, maybe these are relays.

No offense, just look at all the fuses and see if one of them are blown! If it is, replace it. It's that simple.

The glove box does NOT have to be removed; however a section of it must be removed (designed for removal - very easy - slips off). Once off the fuses are visible. There's a sheet of paper, folded and clipped to the fuse block that indicates the circuit for each fuse. It's cryptic, but eventually understandable. There's also a pair of forceps there to assist in fuse removal, as well as a few spares.

Thanks, I just have to figure out that slip off thing.

To the OP, like I said I don't know if it is the same in an 06 and I have no way of finding out, but there appear to be two relays in the upper left corner of my diagram which have Windshield wiper symbols on them. You really need to get a diagram of your fuse box, maybe from the dealer or a cheap manual in an autoparts store.

My owner's manual does not have a diagram of the fusebox, it is on a piece of thick folded paper clipped to the fusebox, now in my glove box.

Sounds like a switch problem. Maybe it's like an amplifier, there is a "power on" line and then there is a constant power line. You found the constant power line and it was getting power so you figured it was the motor. But you didn't test the "power on" line which activates the motor and tells it to use the constant power line for power.
Since you did replace the motor, it probably wasn't the motor. Then it is likely the switch, the power line going to the switch, or the line going from the switch to the wiper motor.

Well that's my best guess.

...problem, and I discovered my trunk won't open either. I checked the fuses but the diagram and so forth is darned confusing. It appears there is no fuse where they say it should be. And why the trunk? There isn't a fuse for that. I even tried using the release button in the glove box to no avail.
