Its more of a counter. Even if you never had your car flashed with a tune it will still show 2-3 depending on how many updates you have received from bmw.

i know this might be a daft question or even price out of reality, but can a second ecu not be sourced and flashed then just swap back to the original one for dealer visits?

In the 135/335 it does I have never tuned a e70

Their maps are not posted online for the E7x - contact them directly if you are interested and they will set you up.

Sweet man thanks. If u don't mind me asking, what power increase are you seeing. I bet the extra power must feel nice on the x6.

What year is your n55?

The n55 x5 is ok but the throttle response sucks. It could definitely use a bit more power/torque and sharper response.
