Where do you keep your knurled wheel

Yep it's a boring one...where do you keep the centre knurled wheel for temperature control of vents! Mine...always in the center...even in summer!!

Mine is usually flicked either all hot or all cold. I'm not really sure what it's on right now.

I'm with you Shane. Dead centre at all times. It's the obsessive/compulsive in me. And you by the sounds of it. How about air vents pointing in different directions? Doesn't that just make you want to grind your teeth...?

Pfffru'hh!

I drove up to a car park space and heard the front air dam grind over the kerb. I pulled it back and had a look but actually.. I didn't care that much! It's underneath.

What does that wheel actually do? Surely the temp in the car is controlled by the CC.

Does it manage the ratio of external and internal air used?

I love this little wheel.
When I first got the car, I thought how pointless? Why would I want to adjust the temp with an old school "hot-cold" wheel when I have the temp dials below.

However I then read that the wheel changes just the vents nothing else.
So now I cant do without in the cold.
once the car starts to get warm and it warms up in the car I find that it gets stuffy and hot on my face. I just turn the little dial towards cold and it blows a nice cool bit of air at my face.
Car is nice and toasty warm but my face is cool.

At first I was obsessive about it being in the centre but now I move it around all the time.
Great little feature. Never seen it on another car before. (Does the F30 still have it?)

What also drives me up the wall is hopping into the car after my Dad has taken it to find the temperature dials at 23.5 and 17.5 aaaaaahhhhh

I know! And not even whole numbers! And odd numbers at that!

Whatever you do don't get an F3x. There's no way of syncing the temperature for left and right. YOU HAVE TO DO IT MANUALLY!!

Come on Ricky. Keep up.

Imagine you're on a trip with your other half. You get in the car and the engine is cold but straight away your other half turns the temperature on her side up to 27.5 or some other nonsense, odd, fucked up, it'll never happen because the engine is cold number. (They do this. It's to mess with your head. Though they'd never admit it.) While they're looking out of the window press and hold the dial thing on your side and hers changes to your very reasonable 20 or 22.

See? We're all the same. Messing with the 'knurled wheel' upsets the balance of the universe.

Yep it has to be an even temp, the vents have to be level not facing up or down. I thought I was just strange

Centre unless very cold then set to warm, but put back to centre (exactly) when temp is good.

Side vents are fully open but pointing up and out (towards window). Any messing around with it and I reset at earliest opportunity.

I believe I have caught OCD.....

In the centre, I've never understood what the dial does but someone ^^ has just explained it, cheers.

I'm also starting to use the 'rest' button a lot more.

Ha ha ace! I'm fed up of changing both dials separately to have them both read the same!
