Figure it was driven "well enough". It's the decision making ability that comes into question. But given a MUCH MUCH higher level of driving ability required to just get a license in Europe, UK, etc... Not really a big deal, just a dude driving quickly IMO.

Nothing like the Stateside Asshat with ZERO driver training behind the wheel of their JB4 335i with both brain cells occupied with "I deserve to be in front".

FWIW, I know the stereotype is that there are no good roads here in the states. This is a mistake, there's a lack of talented, interested, or involved drivers.

We in fact have hundreds of thousands of Kick butt B roads... Problem is that over the last 20 years, drivers ed programs have been pulled from just about every school in the country. Every mother on the road has to have a gigantic land yacht to transport their tribe of mouth-breathing spawn (with no idea how to drive) and with the alarming lack of driver training what you find is that EVERY good "Fun" road has been double painted any place you might be able to overtake, and because clearly SPEED is the devil the limits are set between 30-45 any place there's a twisty road and fun to be had.

For real excitement there's a lot of communities just discovering the roundabout! IF you want some entertainment, find a good one and grab your camera. Watching the unskilled, attempt to come to grips with the different is priceless.

I'll be honest, this is just a bloke driving quickly and undertaking, we've all done both of those things, sure some of us would not admit to it. The video of that guy in the middle of some Eastern European country driving an M5 through the streets side ways... Now that is mad and awful!

"Undertaking" a concept so Alien to just about every driver in the US that it doesn't even register.

In fact, last few years, there's this "fast lane" dominance thing going on, and the "slow" lane is the quick way around. Everything backwards.

He was driving pretty quick but I didn't see anything all that dangerous. I was waiting for something bad to happen and the video stopped.

I wish I caught the two Nissan GTRs on the M8 in Glasgow on Saturday afternoon.

5 lanes with a 60mph limit and they were racing each other in and out of the traffic.

I hope their is cctv footage and they get done. Absolute idiots.

Know this section of road very well. Coming from Runcorn onto the M56 Chester direction.
A very busy area most times of the day, probably not the best area to drive like that!

You all would hate driving around here (Washington, DC area) some places in the US are still civlized enough that drivers will pass on the left and then move back to the right lane and let you by (surprisingly, New Jersey is included in that list) but around here, there *are* no "passing" and "driving" lanes you just have to constantly watch your surroundings and go wherever things are moving more quickly.

The point is

There's nothing wrong with driving quickly, however this chump was one minor mistake or oversight away from a huge smash. All it takes is one lane change by another driver into a lane where there should be no cars and he'll write-off 2 cars and get done for dangerous driving. Doesn't seem terribly smart to me.
Good driving is about anticipation....in this case there was none....so in my book bad driving.....silly driving.....asking for trouble

As for making a video of yourself breaking the law....hmmmmm

If the clip was split into small single manouvre pieces each wouldn't look to bad and we have probably all done it. But it was a bit mental and way to busy to sustain it for that long.

No one said any laws had been broken. But if you re-read Steve's post note the bit about anticipation. In my opinion the road conditions didn't allow for that sort of driving. Assume that every other driver around you is just about to do the most stupid thing imaginable and you can't go wrong. The driver in the vid wasn't doing that.
