HPFP failure in the making ??

Hey guys i'm praying it isn't a HPFP failure in the making right now because of all the horror stories I have heard from a friend who had owned a n54. But today I was driving on the BQE towards manhattan and while try to press down on the gas pedal there was no power being produced at all and the steering wheel was very hard to turn also ( keep in mind I was driving on the middle lane ). I immediately threw on my hazard light and checked to see if there was any malfunctions thats came up, but nothing. I then without any hesitation decided to turn off car and prayed that my car could have power again once I turned it back on and it did. My question is if I should be worried about this right now and do you think "this limp mode" is a pre-cursor of my HPFP failing in the near future? Also my car which I bought brand new from the dealer last year is still stock and recently has been stuttering during start ups. Any info would be great guys thank you

Garage List
not enough information to deduce anything at this point, too many factors... however, the n55 is NOT susceptible to the previous generation (n54) of hpfp failures. If I were you, since the vehicle is stock and you have no way to read codes, I'd stop buy a dealership at once. They can read your key fob and identify any codes that may be in your ecu right now. Good luck and let us know what the issue was.

But N55 fuel pumps can die too, just not as frequently as the N54's did.

Same symptoms:
stumbling starts,
rough running under throttle load,
misfire under load,
half engine lights eventually

Yea Im gonna set upan appointment ASAP with my dealership after the holidays. But one thing I also forgot to note is that there has been a increase in "jerking" while letting go of the gas pedal in low rpm (1k-2k). Im not exactly sure if there is anything to the problem I had yesterday, but I did bring that issue up the dealer 3 months ago and they said it was there no problem and its normal in 335's.
