Radar detector mount on rearview mirror
Came across this mount while looking for an alternative to the suction cups for the Escort Passport. Looks like a nice solution... pricey at $40, but looks like it's worth it.

yeah it's annoying, I know it's only 40 bux but don't want to spend the cash if I don't know...I sent the company pics of my mirror, we'll see if I get a response.

Personally, I don't like that location. It just looks weird I think. Plus, it has to clear the clown nose, so it'll look even worse I think.

Country Joy Crafts . . .
It is a great mount and will "fit" almost all BMWs. The real negative is that once on (and it is a real bitch to get on), the mirror is limited in it's adjustability. It will move a bit left and right and a bit more up and down, but that's it.
I had the mount on my 2006 325xi for about 6 months. It worked great holding the Escort, but I couldn't use the rearview mirror as well. I could see what was behind me somewhat but not to the horizontal degree that I could with the mount off. Also, if someone else drives your car, and they need to adjust the mirror, it will probably not work for them. |

Blendmount.com is developing a mount that is supposed to fit BMWs. I've signed up for beta testing. I've also been talking with the makers of another mount sold on eBay by a seller named astronutus888 ( just search the seller). His mount fits my Miata just fine, but is a bit too thick for the BMW mirror mount. He may develop something thinner, but no timeline yet.

By the way, how did you get on the beta testing list for blendmount - I'm interested in being a beta tester as well.

I'd love to hear an update on the blend mounts. I need to order a mount, the Country Joy Crafts mount doesn't sound ideal.

I'm all in for a mirror mount for my V1 too. The country joy mount fit my 350z great, but this small stem is killing me.
Ideally, I'd like to see something like this developed for the BMW: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...7-g-rides.html Anyone try this one? http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...detector-mount I'd prefer the mount hold from the stem down and to the right so the detector could be under the right side of the mirror, to the right of the clown nose. |

Just got an email that the blendmount mounts are available for preorder... No pictures as "Detailed photos and 3D renderings will be available as soon as all patents have been submitted."
