E90 Trunk/Cargo Light Removal

I don't drive this car (I have a couple of Tauruses), but my Mom drives a 2006 325iA sedan. 65K miles.

Noticed while looking car over that her trunk/cargo light no longer works. Before I replace the bulb, I wanted to take the bulb out and probe the wires, see if maybe there's a possible broken wire in the wire accordion or something (I see that issue from the E39s made its way to the E90s).

How does that light bulb holster/housing come out?

Thanks,
Nick

You just pry it out. There should be a little indent on the right side where you can stick a flathead in.

It's most likely the bulb. The wiring to the trunk light doesn't move or flex.

The housing for the truck just pries out and has a wire you can disconnect. The same connector is used for the same/similar shaped housing found in the glove box and puddle light on the bottom of the front doors. You could easily just substitute one of those briefly to see if they light up or not.

However the bulb also has a clearly visible wire/filament that if broken would render the bulb as "burned out"
