Side mirror, heated, chromatic with discoloration damage - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Has anyone ever seen this kind of damage before? Know what caused it?

Yes, my drivers side view is similar, though the yellowing isn't as pronounced as in your case. My mother's Lexus is doing it as well, I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the auto-dimming on the mirrors, something (be it time or otherwise) causes them to de-laminate and turn that soft gold color. Mine is "just" a slight golden shade on the bottom half-inch of the mirror or so, it hasn't spread a noticeable amount in the last 6 months or so, so i'm probably just going to leave it be. Bigger fish to fry, and i'm not sure if it would be covered under CPO.
