Sparkling Graphite LCI Conversion

So I just finished my rear LCI conversion and man did it take long. At first I was going with the Arkym trunk and things didn't go so well with modbar-you know the rest still don't know why they're blocked. The representative I was speaking to with them was careless so I got upset and canceled my order with them. I usually have a good experience working with them, especially Eddy. But this time, things weren't so great. I got my money back and called up Nick Alexander BMW in Downtown LA and asked if they can match Tischer BMW's price for the LCI trunk ($520) They said yes so I got my dad to pick it up on his way back from his work in downtown.

When the trunk came:

I got the tail lights from eBay: $75 for the outer 2 and they work perfect. The inners from a member off e90post, they look flawless but the reverse lamp isn't working If anyone can help me out on that..is it the bulb? coding? wiring? The lights work just not the reverse..

Pic of the lights:

Now here's the tough bit..finding a place to paint it. I was calling a lot of places seeing where's the best place to do it and all these places are quoting me CRAZY numbers! Like near the thousands. Just because they wanted to color blend it..well this is where my friends told me about Legacy Auto Body and Paint. Great prices and great work. I took it to them and they brought out a couple samples and saw which shade matched best. As a lot of us know, sparkling graphite is hard to do because there are tons of shades. I left it there and came back the next week and PERFECT color match. NO color blend either. I would recommend anyone in the are to them

http://www.yelp.com/biz/legacy-auto-body-northridge

Only problem was LCI's don't have lock cylinders so we had to cut the wire for it so that was a loss but who cares lol

It took about an hour to put on, they did the trunk and I went to a friends place and we did the outer tail lights. I drove home mismatched lol was getting weird looks on the way there.

But one thing doesn't look right..On the inner tail light, behind the LED double strip there is a light and every other LCI doesn't have that light on. What's the deal? Why is that light on?

It kind of looks like a fog light, or brake light. I don't know but it doesn't look good lol

I'm getting it coded this weekend by Alex@Alpine to fix the super fast signaling.

Before and after:

Over all I'm really happy with the results I'm getting a performance spoiler soon which should be coming in a few weeks after I talk to my buddy at Ventura Motorsports.

Oh and I also got red air scoops..

Oh by the way..SGM Pre-LCI trunk for sale!

I figured that could be it too because kind of looks like the pre-lci's euro fog. No I don't have an option for it Any other way I can turn it off?

I want to do this exact thing, it looks great you have convinced me to do the exact same thing. Are you thinking about converting the front too?

Thanks! I don't think I'm going to do the front unless I come across a lot of money or a really good deal. I'm ok with the mustache on the grills for now, just the headlights annoy me but I'm going to do a DIY to get rid of the reflectors. But definitely going to get new bumpers.

Thank you! Either that or the performance bumper. Which ever is easier to come across.

I'm thinking of going for the M3 rep with the fog deletes once I start my project. The Msport or Performance would look great for you.

There are no shots of the rims, what's your stance looking like?

Looks awesome, I love sgm

Light definitely looks like rear fog light. Is there a light in the dash similar to the one for fog lights? Should be same symbol in the cluster but orange instead of green. If not then I definitely think something on the wiring end is wrong which is leaving them on all the time.

There's a whole photoshoot I did, I'm planning on dropping the front more and maybe the rear just a bit before I get the spacers. I toned down the camber when I got an alignment because I felt it would wear fast but next time I'm going to camber it out more.

Thanks! You should post some pics of your car dude!

Thanks! Yea I'mm 100% sure it is now, saw some pics with fogs on. But all we did was just plug it in like literally plugged the lights in. No lights on the dash at all, I don't even have a button for euro rear fogs. Maybe when I go code it he can make the front fogs sync with the rear..

Well you definitely don't want front fogs sync with rear. Maybe take it to a shop or see if he needs to do anything coding. The rear fogs are extremely bright and blind people. Hahah I enabled mine so I can turn them on when people tailgate me and I don't feel like driving quicker. If you mod the headlight switch it's easy to make a switch for them which is what you want to do. One for front, one for rear

Edit: By mod I don't mean something aftermarket. You just open them up, cut some clips, make something to push the buttons on the board then close it up. Looks OEM and then that blank button will work to enable fogs

That location looks sick, and your rims look great too. The spacers will complete it all perfectly.

My car is all stock right now except for the roof rack, and no one wants to see that lol. I want to do it all right so I'm waiting until all my parts are gathered.

You don't need the euro button. On mine I opened it up and cut the clips preventing the button from being pushed. Then I made a makeshift rod out of a plastic tube laying in the garage along with cardboard to push the buttons at the end. I glued the cardboard to the rod then put it in between the button and the board and it pushes just like oem. You can also use a lego piece like in this diy. Idk if that made any sense but I hope it did... Here's the DIY

Makes sense, I did some research and saw a lot of DIYs I'm sure I can do it tomorrow. I was confused on how some guys who made the DIYs already had the button extension and some didn't guess its a lci thing to have it in there. But the thing is...why are they on, but there's no orange light on the dash that indicated that they're on maybe after I do this it'll reset it self if not I'll take them out see what the problem is because the reverse lights aren't working either.
