Hissing noise from heater after cold start

I have been having a heck of time trying to track down this annoying hissing sound since I got my 2009 335 last year. About 5 minutes after I start the car after leaving it for a while in cold weather the heater will start "hissing" intermittantly. The sound is a hollow hiss, kind of like you hear when you put air in your tires, and it comes directly from the vents. It will hiss for about 25 seconds, stop for about a minute, hiss (more quietly) for about 25 seconds, stop for one minute, hiss (even more quietly) for 25 seconds, and so on until it disappears. I cannot hear it at all when the engine warms up.

I have tried changing every climate control setting, the only thing that has an effect on it are the temp control knobs by the air vents. If I turn those towards the blue, the hiss will rise in pitch.

My factory warranty runs out in about 3 weeks so I am anxious to get this resolved while I can. I brought the car in once last winter for this issue, but the dealership said they could not replicate the noise. Any help would be immensely appreciated. Thanks!

Mine does this, too. Is your system on Auto when this happens? I always thought it was the AC fan coming on to control humidity in the cabin. I don't ever hear the hissing sound when I manually override the controls and turn Auto off.

Mine actually occurs whether auto is on or off...

I hear this noise occasionally too in my 2009 335, it actually doesn't bother me because I've heard the same noise in my old Camry and my dad's Chevy Silverado. I just assumed the noise was slug of steam passing through the heater coil but that's just a guess, I have no real idea what it is.

Got a snake in there?

But seriously, mine will hiss sometimes after I shut it off. Almost sounds like its releasing pressure or something. Sure it's not a squealing sound? My 2007 335 had a slight squeal from the blower motor. Dealership said it was a bearing or something going bad but I didn't want to pay to even figure it out.
