335is ? SSK ?

Is anyone running a SSK on there 335is ? If so which one, and are you pleased with it ?

I picked up my car recently, and am pleased overall; the throws are l-o-n-g. I did have SSK's in my last 2 bimmers, so perhaps I am spoiled - but I must do something with this current shifter.

Please let me know what some of you guys may be doing. Thanks, - Ray -

Ive been thinking of the UUC Evo 3 and UUC DSSR combo. Ive heard great reviews of it before. Its just difficult to justify the costs when thr stock shifter is pretty good

My DCT doesn't have that issue.. I actually drove both manual and dct before choosing one and didn't think throws were long.. I personally think there are perfect, much better than audis!!

well i have the uuc evo3 with dssr and its pretty nice...but still my favorite ssk which isnt available for this car was the autosolutions one for my e46 m3.

now that was the ultimate kit as the throws were short and extremely precise.

335is SSK

I really like this car. I had an E46 M3 with a UUC ssk. Then a 328i with a 330i ssk. I find the 335is shift quite smooth, and enjoy that aspect - however the throw is very long.

Doesn't anyone else find this to be true ? The throw seems much L-O-N-G-E-R than most sports cars/coupes that have driven. Is the shifter any different for 2013 ?

Are any of you with manual trans. running a modified CDV and short clutch stop ?

I don't think the throw is that long, but I'm annoyed at the flimsiness / imprecision of the engagement. The shifting just feels very vague, and I feel like I have to baby the shifter into each gear. I'm coming from a Corvette with a Hurst shifter though; I love that thing. The mechanical clunk-clunk into each gear, and very short shifts. I want that in my 335i!

ssk

I hear you. You may want to try a UUC ssk (or Active Autowerke). I had that in my E46 M3; the throws were short and distinct with a "clunk" into each gear. Probably not to the degree of your Vette/Hurst shifter, but certainly solid.
