Angry Yankess Can't Effn Hit

What the hell is going on? Yankee's are making the Tiger's pitching look like Cy young winners. Now there going to Detroit, and will face Verlander. Hopefully they get their act together, and can tie up the series.

A-Rod, Granderson, Cano, and Swisher, They are horrible. They won't even make my softball team. I just hope they wake up sooner than later. It drives me crazy watching them at the plate. They look lost. I recommend they go and see an optometrist after the season. These guys can't see. My Giants will be the Giants. I don't want to start thinking about those old men called the KNICKS. Please Yankee's, start hitting.

yeah its pretty baffling. And Jeter is a huge loss. He was the only guy that was getting hits.

On a side note I'm pretty excited about the Knicks this year. What most people fail to realize is that the "old men" aren't going to be getting major minutes anyway so their age isn't going to matter. However they bring great experience and a good locker room. I have confindence in Melo, Amare, and Chandler. They seem motivated. Yes I'm a huge basketball fan.

As a red sox fan, I'm enjoying this mightily.

Every year I am always concerned about our pitching. Outside of CC, I had little faith in Burnett, Vasquez, Colon, Garcia, Hughes, Joba and all those other clowns, but this postseason the staff has been lethal, going deep, getting out of jams, Drob throwing darts. Why the fack can't the offense score runs? really pathetic, and although Arod is a problem, I can't single him out, the entire order is lifeless.

I was waiting for a Red Sox fan to chime in. Your team has major problems. I like when they do well, it's exciting watching the Yankees and Red Sox play meaningful games. Opening day 2013 has the Yankees playing the RedSox. Back to the Yankees. I was listening to sports radio, and they said the Yankees hit better against hard throwing pitchers. I hope. they can somehow snap out of this dreadful slump. If not, Verlander will throw a no hitter.

Verlander is a beast, if they couldnt hit the rest of those other pitchers, he may just pitch a perfect game tonight lol

You don't have to sugarcoat it. 2012 was an utter disaster for Red Sox Nation. I was really just being a smart@ss. I too enjoy the rivalry between the two clubs and have great respect for the Yankee heritage. It was very disappointing to have a year where the games between the two clubs were utterly meaningless (from our standpoint). I was really sad when Jeter went down the other night. He is a class act and dare I say has the utmost respect from real sox fans, at least those who are man enough to admit it.

They should make CC pitch against Verlander tomorrow. That would be an awesome matchup and one of the biggest games of both of their careers.

You don't necessarily want to play match up because if the Yankees cant hit, you will waste a good outing by CC. It should be manageable as long as long as Hughes can limit them to 2-3 runs and hand it over to the pen. Just hope Hughes can pitch around Cabrera and Prince because he's a fly ball pitcher. Tomorrow is a must win, because you want the ball going back to CC, Petite and Kuroda for the following games.

As a Tiger fan, I can tell you the area we are concerned about is the bullpen. Our strongest area coming into the playoffs was starting pitching, and so the challenge was getting quality starts from the starters to limit exposure of the bullpen (and especially our closer, who you've now seen at his worst). Hitting has cooled a bit in the playoffs, but that's almost to be expected, since you're not hitting against the Royals or the Twins. These games now are down to good teams that are very evenly matched, and where episodes and little details can make all the difference (including bad umpire calls, which I don't like to see even if in my team's favor).

I think I heard a stat today that Detroit starting pitching has allowed just 1 ER so far. All other runs are either unearned, or off the bullpen. That definitely supports the theory that the longer Detroit starters stay in the game, the better their chance of winning the game, and that's usually a recipe for success. Usually.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the series, but who knows? Verlander might start tonight like he did in the All Star game, and that would be bad. Then if CC shuts us down in game 4, all of a sudden it's 2-2. Fun stuff! We'll see....Go Tigers!

GO YANKEES!!! They have been down 0-2 in series before and gone on to win. Even the World Series in '96. Hughes beat Verlander last time........ but that was when the Yankees offense was mediocre, now they stink to high heaven. Maybe the day off will rejuvenate them, they look terrible.

There is too much talent in the Yankee lineup. I hope the day off, change of scenery will help them clear their heads. Verlander is a monster. However, he is due for a bad outing, and the Bronx Bombers are due to explode with their bat's. I'm trying to be optimistic.

As great as Verlander is the Yankees have had good games against him. Last year in the playoffs in his second start against the Yankees he did beat us but also gave up 4 runs in 8 innings. If Hughes can limit the runs we have a fighting chance as long as our hitters get their act together. The one positive will be that being on the road at least we wont have our own fans booing us. Get the win tonight and hand CC the ball tommorow to even up the series!!!

I hope so but without our Catalyst Jeter in the lineup, it's going to be a hard hole to climb out of being down 0-2.
