335d valuation help

Hi all

Looking at selling my 335d and would appreciate some help valuing it please.

Autotrader is quite varied; here is the spec and history

335d 2007 (june registered) space grey se coupe
47k miles with 1 owner before me
All dealer stamps apart from first oil change done at specialist
BMW extended warranty until June 2013
Tax until June 2013
Idrive
Pro nav
Privacy glass
Bluetooth
19" 230s
17" style (will find out) winter wheels with vred wintracs
Everything else as standard, xenons, memory heated seats etc

Just had its major 3rd service, oil, air, fuel, micro filter, brake fluid all done. Went to Darren wood for both its thermostats changed in dec 2012. Both actuators vacuum pipes changed in the summer. So had all the common little bits sorted. Red boost pipes never leaked and drinks no oil.

I think it's in very good condition, will do a proper valet before selling.

What should I aim for?

Thanks

There have been quite a few on here over the last 2/3 mths,so hopefully these may help give you an idea of what to ask:

I tried mine on Autotrader before Xmas, and the response was frightening,I had zero calls/interest!

Hopefully things will have got better now with the festivities concluding, and according to 'Webuyanycar',prices have apparently seen an increase.

I was offered 15K for mine in part exchange, 2008 with 37k on the clock.
Similar spec to yours.
I did not proceed.

I'd try a private advert on Pistonheads. I've sold most of my previous cars through it.

Can't help with values, its difficult as the majority of people want the M Sports so will take a specific buyer who potentially have a lower budget.

Thanks for those links it certainly helps me gauge where to position it.

I wanted a fair and realistic price. I was thinking something with a 15 in front at least

Probably not the best time of year to sell, like selling our house last year, pretty dead over winter then went crazy by spring. Will see how it goes with the car.

Spent a bit changing stats and big service so hope it counts for something and have an itch I want to scratch.

I have a similar car only without nav, had a sniff around a dealer approx 16 months ago and was offered way less than you are talking about. Could have got up to near your figure by letting an independent sell it on my behalf but didn't proceed.

Sadly I reckon your 15 figure is overly optimistic on a trade in.

Yes on trade in I won't get that as they want a profit and sadly big engined cars sometimes sit on pitches for months. A lot of people want Eco crap boxes.

I will try selling privately where I won't expect top whack but somewhere In the middle to gain interest.

Looking on autotrader there are no cars below 16k of similar age and mileage with idrive or the extras

There are plenty of high mileage cars ie 70k-120k and some low mileage bare spec ones.

The spec-ed ones seem to start at around 15.5k which is higher mileage and older than mine and sit around 16k to 17k

Sit and wait now
