you don't switch a car because of your insecurities, you switch if you prefer the other one over this one.

Hahaha!! Oh damn, the common man can now afford my Bavarian automobile. I need to upgrade before the other gents at the country club make fun of me for being painfully middle class. What a snob.

Well said. Don't get me wrong, the e9x are beautiful vehicles, and I think are higher quality than the f3x. I just like that exclusivity feel. Now we have even Highschoolers purchasing e92s. This is why Leasing is my favorite option, I can get the newest model every 3 years.

If you live in an area where BMW 3 Series are considered exclusive, sell the 3 Series and use the money to move to a better neighborhood.

If your decisions hinge on other's opinions or actions, then there are issues.

Takes a seriously condescending douche bag to make a thread titled like this one.

You bought a car just because other people didn't? It's people like you that make BMW owners look bad OP. Feel bad for you if you need material things solely to feel special.

I'm with those that believe the F30 isn't really a step forward, so I won't be trading up either. Maybe for an F80 M3, but that'll be a few years.

My next vehicle will definitely have a manual transmission. This automatic is painfully boring to drive.

I'm taking this thread as half-kidding, no offense here.

I wouldn't get rid of my car for that reason, but I definitely understand what you mean. The other day, pulling into the highway, I was 3rd in a line of 7 e92's in a row. I counted!
However, I'm seeing a good number of F30's daily now, so getting one of those wouldn't solve the exclusivity thing in this area.

I'm actually starting to see more F3x on the road now.
Just give it.... another 3 years and our e9x will be uncommon...lol

Maybe the 4 series would help in your situation?

But it sounds like you might have drove into a BMW meet lol

Again, I just want to clarify that our cars are not extremely common. They still look the best on the road, and I'm happy that people are starting to realize how great BMWs are. Once again, I feel that the e9x are better built than the F3x. I feel like BMW did a lot of cost cutting with the newer models. Just last night, I was getting compliments on my bone stock e90 LCI parked in front of a restaurant. A nice couple approached me asking "How does it drive, what does it feel like to own one, how does it handle etc" so it's still a great car that's above average on the road. And I still think that all e9x look better than most new cars on the road. People still think a pre LCI e90 costs more than a 2013 Toyota/Honda/Ford/Chevy/Nissan etc. The badge alone makes people think you're well above middle class. Just my 2 cents. I love all BMWs.

Along with expensive repairs, the always wanting of the newest luxury car is why people in lower SES can afford virtually the same car as the wealthier person.

So, yes, get the new one. Always get the new one!
