Duke Dynamics, LTMW
Well to start off I must say that i cant be too mad at these guys considering that they were the only ones with an LCI CSL trunk in stock, allowing me to keep my insurance claim moving.
however, my shop just received my trunk lid and i must say, THEY ARE NOT IMPRESSED! first off, upon the unboxing we immediately saw that the finish was nothing more than a rattle can primer finish. and they barely used a single can. so the shop will be putting in an extra hour at least to refinish it. I say at least because the FRP was cracked and chipped in multiple places as shown in the following pictures: (sorry they are crappy cell pics and i couldnt get them focused) in the end its all probably gonna cost me 1/4 of the cost of the lid itself to fix on a good note, the kick looks perfect and after all is said and done i cannot wait to get my baby back! |

I'm wondering how LTMW was involved in this.
I'm assuming you bought a DD trunk lid from LTMW?

And it would be but the pics don't do it justice because that hole in the second picture isn't just a hole, its the layers pealing apart, and the whole top of the hood is gonna need a lot of prep. Not to mention the rattle can primer. This would all be fine by me if oi were paying a few hundred bucks but for a grand, I was expecting something closer to BMW quality not a backyard job.

+1 That is part of the prep work. It is not going to come to your house finished. The body shop should have charge a max of $300 for paint and prep. If the trunk fits you shouldn't be complaining. From reviews I have read you are lucky if it fits.
