DINAN ECU reflash

Spoke to Dinan rep tonight. They are WEEKS, not months away from having the ECU flash available for the 335, and of course, your local DINAN shop can do it for you. You don't have to send it off. Many BMW dealers are authrized DINAN centers and they will flash it too, as well as supply any other Dinan products.

I appreciate the update, and welcome to the forum. Personally I'm not really a big Dinan fan, although I used to be. It's been pretty well publisized that BMW and Dinan will soon be ending their association. We'll see what happens.

How much do you want to bet...if and when a Dinan 335i ECU flash will be made available, it will be ~ +30HP for $1,000+. No thanks, I'll stick with the PROcede.

I am betting that it will be 30 HP for less than $1,000 and no limp mode or codes

I'll take PROcede v2.0 with no codes or limp mode; even if limp mode occurred once every 2 months (but clears quickly) with v2.0 like v1.47, I'd still prefer PROcede for +90WHP / +100 lb.-ft. RWTQ over whatever Dinan puts out!!!!!! :rocks: Even my BMW SA said Dinan is "old news," and they're an authorized Dinan dealer.

Agreed that the Dinan will be very low output for a very high price, but for those that want warranty and don't want to deal with taking things out everytime you go to the dealer, then by all means.

I'm sorry for being repetative, as it always seems I'm coming on to disprove warranty claims with Dinan and BMW. This is not meant to piss anybody off, it's just a fact.

There is no BMW warranty with any Dinan part/upgrade. There never has been. It's called a "warranty matching program" by Dinan. If something happens to your car that can be attributed to the Dinan part, then Dinan, not BMW will cover any and all costs. BMW does nothing (except fix the car I guess). The potential problem (and it's a big one) occurrs when Dinan and BMW argue over what caused the problem. Feel free to ask your dealer. If they say "we'll cover the warranty for your Dinan parts", then they're lying.

Now as far as not having to hide anything when you go into the dealer, sure that would be very true.

For 30 HP, wouldn't you be better off getting a Turbo Tuner. As stated before, it is Dinan that warranties the car, not BMW. Jeff @ Eurobahn, correct me if I am wrong, I remember a previous post where you indicated that Eurobahn warranties the Turbo tuner.

It doesn't say when they were at the track though. There needs to be a timeslip though.

yea but given that were just NOW getting details, and theres no way you would wait 2 weeks to post that time... its pretty obvious

also speed world doesn't put details on their slips, so it could be any timeslip from any car if it came from speed world

I checked the link and there is a time slip now (may not have been there earlier). Is it possible the run was done before the track opened?

I think thats what most are speculating now. Maybe a private session, well prepped tracked, before the racing there this afternoon. Who knows for sure.

I've talked extensively with local dealership (also authorized Dinan dealer/installer) when I had my '01 M5 and they say as long as you purchase it from them and they install it at the dealership, they've had no issues with warranty claims... (that was their big selling point vs other aftermarket mods, of course) - even though this is just one dealership, this is something that would sway me towards this over the Procede if I did anything at all...
