Blow off valve!
Looking for feedback on blow off valve kits! I've got a 2007 335i and I would like to find a good BOV kit but not sure if I need some tuning after I get it bc I know how touchy the computer is with the pressure NOT being released back into the charge system! So help me out friends! Please! thank you

You don't need a tune to run a bov as far as I know, recommend getting a charge pipe with it aswell if you plan on modding your car's performance.

The N54 doesn't need to be calibrated for a BOV.
It all depends on whether you want to keep the stock charge pipe or go with charge pipe + BOV combo. If you want to stick with the stock charge pipe: AWE, Helix and Forge make BOV kits. If you want to run an aftermarket charge pipe: I rcommend an Evolution Racewerkes charge pipe with either Tial or Synapse BOV. |

Why not diverter valve? Shouldn't you stick to what BMW engineered and just upgrade to a forge DV vs a Blow off?

Not sure if your an Auto or not but if you are save your money and buy another mod since we don't lose boost between shifts which means no swoosh sound it really is a waste

I used to like the sound of BOVs, i love them on other peoples cars, like a supra for instance.
But tbh, its a little boy thing, and it sounds pretty cheap from most peoples views, it does nothing to the power, merely just air escaping. But HKS SSQV4 is the best sounding BOV if you want one. |

I think people don't really understand what the blow off / diverter valves are for everyone always talks about sound. They have nothing to do with sound, its just a by product. What they are doing is extending the life of your turbos by leaps and bounds. Whether putting the air back into the system or venting it they do the same thing. The only reason to swap out the factory ones is because they can leak boost at higher levels and or if you really want the BOV sound. Thats basically it, you will not need a tune to utilize one.
