E90 headlight overlay (amber tint). Yes or No?

I might be considering amber tint for my headlight. Since Im painting the grill black, I want the front to have more "darker" look.

Yes or No?

If yes, which tint would look the best on alpine white? Darker or lighter?

I, personally, think any kind of tinting on the headlights cheapens the look of the car. I vote no.

Do it looks good I have it on my e90 and saw many e90s at bimmerfest with the same overlay.

No, especially not body-colored ones. They look like cheap stickers. From farther out, the smoked ones look OK, I guess, but I'd still say no.

i realy dont like the tint. never seen it done right. some amber always sticks out. i can't see the point. it doesnt look THAT bad. just when they crack and you have to upgrade, get some LCI ones which are much better.

The ones I've seen done were really crappy. Made the car look cheaper but try it out, see what you think and upload some pics.

i'd just get it from longtran.

i've had mine for a while. i got them from a member on here (can't remember who), before any shops sold them. i've seen LT's version in person on a few cars, and it pretty much looks the same as mine.

the tint doesn't kill the amber completely, imho, it tames it down quite a bit, so that it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

just don't get the "color-match" overlays. imho, those never look right.

my $0.02

Are you saying tinting the entire headlight, or something like the "amber-gones"?

I have silver amber gones and I like them.

Amber to silver-painted on TiAg looks the best. next up is black.
You guys should've seen white-painted on alpine white. It looks disgusting.

modtheebmw, you took apart the headlights? I heard that its royal pain in the ass.

Broke a ton of halogen lights, but found a cleaner way to do it. Pure upgrade with OSS, Luis is the master craftsman on that. Basic amber delete can easily be done. Just need to be sealed correctly and wouldn't try it at home. if you dont seal them right boys, say good bye to your lights. So yes its a royal pain to cut and reweld and seal it back to factory

What do you mean by silver painted? Like color match or silver looking etched glass? I hate those ambers but wish I had the money to get Euro's and not have to settle for these mediocre vinyl :/

Color-matched films. I would've gotten euros, but i'm selling my car soon so vinyl will do. I just recently put it on, and I actually love the way it looks..
