Cars and Coffee Austin is now moving to the Oasis near Lake Travis. First official meet is coming up Sunday, January 13th. This location is perfect. See you Bimmers there!

Will be there for this one as well next Sunday. I was at the Leander one today and it was a bit slow cause of weather conditions, but it picked up with a full crowed.

Regardless, Austin Cars & Coffee will still be in Leander, but the one the OP posted is a different Cars & Coffee.

If Austin was closer I would more than likely come... don't like driving around much yet not having permanent stateside plates yet... Driving on my 30 day Germany shipping plates...

We have a C&C here in the SA area too...although I'm not certain if it's the same "organization" as the one in the Austin area. Also, FYI you can get "military" plates to replace your standard plates at no cost in TX - just fill out the application (you can get it online) and provide proof of service (active, retired, or veteran) and send it to the Bexar County Tax Office. Once it's approved, you go to your closest satellite tax office and turn in your standard plates for the military ones and a new window sticker. I had them send mine to the one over on Bandera Road between 1604 and 410.

I'll look into it, but I honestly don't like to flaunt it... I like the black plate with the white lettering because it'll blend in with my black car.. But I will check them out at least! Yea, I found the Coffee and Rides facebook page for San Antonio.. will be going to that. Might try to make this one in Austin if I take car of my registration before then. You going?

I don't think I'll go to this one next Sunday, as the following Saturday is our BMWCCA Chapter dinner in San Marcos and I'd rather not make 2 trips up that way within a week. The Oasis is not easy to get to from here, as it's on the southeast shore of Lake Travis. One of those "you can't get there from here, you have to go somewhere else first" places, although it's a great place once you get there. But if you do go, there'll be a good contingent of BMW guys from the Austin area for sure.

My plates are "Vietnam Veteran", which seems to get a little respect these days, unlike when we came home 40 years ago.

I need to join the chapter... I remember you guys talking about that dinner coming up while I was still in Germany. You have a lot to be proud of for having those plates. I don't blame you one bit for having them.

Thanks for that about the plates...I put off getting them for a long time, but I thought I'd go ahead and get them when I moved down here and had to change registration info anyway.

Google maps says 1 hour 47 minutes from where I am located in San Antonio. Cars and Coffee starts at 10am. So I would say 8 at the latest...

That's assuming you don't run into traffic. Did it route you along 1604 to I-35? Problem with The Oasis' location is it is off of 620 in far West Austin, and 620 is notorious for bad traffic. Great place once you get there, though - views are spectacular from the main building.
