Oil capacity

Just changed the oil on my 08 335xi (no oil cooler) and put in 6 quarts. Checked the level on idrive and it said full. I thought the capacity was 6.5 quarts. What gives?

Its 7 quart sump. Give it a day or two for your oil sensor to calibrate.

There should be a dipstick....I mean seriously! The sensor is nice and all but there needs to be a manual way to confirm the level against it.
