Where do you buy brake parts?
My daughters 2006 325i needs new brakes. Dealer wants $850 for pads, sensors and rotors. Is there somewhere that sells good replacement parts more reasonable?
No need for any kind of performance upgrade.... just brakes as good as OEM Thanks, Greg |

You can go to any general parts store but if you are changing them why not stop a little better.
The HAWK HPS and Hawk Ceramic brake pads offer more bite and the ceramic have low dust. They meet or exceed OEM specification and priced competitively. |

Geesh... Didnt expect all that. Thanks for the info. I had one mechanic tell me he would only install OEM parts on a BMW. So I thought I would just do this myself... it doesnt look very hard.
Thanks again, Greg |

Bought all my brake parts from fcpeuro dot com. Get the low dust pads, they are excellent. I believe they are called akebono or something. Prices there are pretty good too and the people that run it are helpful. I am by no means an expert at car repairs and i would NEVER consider going to a mechanic for a brake job. Its just wayy too easy to do yourself.

Brakes are very easy to do on your own.. Only issue I had was a bit of rust locking up that itty bitty screw on the rotor.... The aftermarket brakes are much better in my opinion than the factory less dust better quality much lower in price rust painted protection on rotors etc

BMAparts.com has excellent parts and service. They are actually BMW enthuiasts and very knowledgeable. I have used them for years and have been a very satisfied customer.

Shop around online! Vendors like ECSTuning.com, RockAuto.com, GermanAutoParts.com, Import Replacement Parts Company, and a few online BMW vendors have great prices and free shipping which is a must b/c rotors are heavy!
Also being a BMWCCA member will get you discounts on parts and labor from some local dealerships and independent shops so check with your regional chapter! Good luck!

My advice is to get original BMW equipment parts. A bit more pricey but worth it IMO. I've done two sets of brakes (all four wheels) using OEM parts ordered from Tischer, no problems. Do the pads and rotors.
