How much can you lower my e90 with stock M-sport shocks?

I have a 2011 e90 with the stock M-sport suspension.
I would like to lower my car some for better look..
How much can I lower the car before the M-sport shocks will be a problem (hitting the "bump stop" in bumps).
Thanks.

our cars are supposed to hit the bump stops, they are secondary springs to aid with progressive spring rate.

It is recommended if you lower to change the shocks to koni yellows or bilstein B8.

Will it be OK to lower the car 1" with the stock shocks?

for a little while, then the shocks will fail. mileage to failure will depend on the status of the current shocks and the roads you drive.

No. Suspension will be underdamped. It already is with oem shocks. You'll just make it ride worse with lowering springs. If a lower look is the most important thing to you and you don't care about ride quality , go for it.
