www.uk-car-discount.co.uk/;
arval; nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk/; broadspeed are just a few suggestions www.new-car-discount.com/ - the chap lives in the same village and have had cars from him before including a current car i just found the cheapest, printed the spec off, gave it to the dealer and they matched it. I think it was arval when i Contract Hired the 330d, alphabet (bmw) matched it £/£. i assume this is what you meant?? |

Magic, did you see this point I made in the other Mini thread? I would certainly urge caution against buying a Countyrman at that price.

Thanks Peter that mini if was auto would be ideal. Certainly agree in regards to options.
THis car we looked at http://www.minicherished.co.uk/miniu...sultsOrder=7_0 Was 33k now dropped 7k since July but only thing it hasn't got is Towbar and heated windscreen .If I could get them down to say 22 then it makes possible sense. Got a drive booked in a B200CDI Auto new one which is similar priced. These seem to be going well for values so might be an option, otherwise doh

£33K
obscene amount for a Mini. The one you are looking at is 6 months old, I know its an ex demo and hard to value but here is the CAP valuation....(with all the extras added as well). So, you drive it away its worth £18K tops if you have to bail out very quickly. I would be paying no more than £20K for it. MINI COUNTRYMAN DIESEL HATCHBACK 2.0 Cooper S D ALL4 5dr Auto (ID:51067) RF12FWEValuation Reference:QWDS-PAQY-DM7J Mileage:5000 (09/01/2013) Date of Registration:20/07/2012 VIN:WMW*******733 Colour:BLACK Valuations Trade In Clean£17,250 - £18,400Trade In Average£16,500 - £17,650 Trade In Below£15,750 - £16,800 |

Wow that is scary.
Considering it has bar about two ticks every options ticked that is heck of a drop in since July I was thinking max £22 inc Road Tax and Service Pack but seeing your figures will mean a bit of a challenge at the dealer I think. When you consider I saw the same model standard at £420 inv VAT on lease with only £2k down at start their deal is becoming expensive. Thanks for that leaves a lot to think about any ideas what B-class values are like. Looking at this one today http://used.mercedes-benz.co.uk/used...r-sale-hy12hvr Can I ask where do you go to get the CAP valuations wouldn't mind doing it on my current car

Here's that MERC, doesnt seem to be taking the piss too much:
MERCEDES-BENZ B CLASS DIESEL HATCHBACK B200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Sport 5dr Auto (ID:53550) HY12HVRValuation Reference 5UN-4QHF-E2U4Mileage:4300 (09/01/2013) Date of Registration:March 2012 VIN:WDD*******084 Colour:BLUE Valuations Trade In Clean£19,650 - £20,950 Trade In Average£18,800 - £20,100 Trade In Below£17,900 - £19,150 The CAP link is on the Ford wesbite. Go to car configurator, select a car to configure and on the right hand side there is a box for finance. Inside the box is the link to 'value my car' and it takes you straight to the free CAP valuation site. |

We're all off to the Ford website to run some valuations :-)
As regards the Countryman, once you go above Cooper D All 4 model you are really into niche markets with pretty low demand which will reflect in the values sadly. |

You could make an offer of £20K on that Countryman and walk away and wait for the phone to ring, but they will probably sneer at you as it owes them a considerable amount more and no doubt some mug punter will come in and end up paying close to the asking price and pay for finance at 10% APR. |

Thought of the golf but it has the same problems as the Focus back space is limited. Especially with me in the front
Once the kids are out of the seats into boosters then possibly but for now there is just not enough room between the back of seats and front of the rear bench for their feet when up on the car seat in Golf or Focus. Hit the same problem with 1 series.

well after all that wife drove the B200 CDI auto (DCT 7 speed) and prefers that. Not bad choice really. Looking at values 1 year old one comes up with part ex CAP at 21k for list price of about 25k thats not bad IMO I think the fact they are on 6 month order wait helps the values

![]() My theory when buying a new car is that it has to have manufacturer AND dealer support....so, a combination of ALL of the following: Cheap finance (no more than 5-6% APR) 5-10% manufacturer supported deposit contribution 5-10% dealer contribution It won't remove the depreciation (far from it) but it will greatly reduce the hit, especially if you buy a brand that holds it's value better than others (so all the German makes basically). If it's on a heavier depreciating brand then double the percentages above! I think Peters suggested £20k is a very cheeky bid (no harm in trying though) but realistically, the price will end up being low-mid £20k's at best if you walk in (obviously) ready to do a deal.

Doing a CAP on the B comes in right now around 19.5 to 20.5k. Its car they sold and bought back 9 months later as client went to E class. So should have plenty of room in it.
With list price of what it is will go in with 21k offer and let them work on it. Others will come in as well and its Jan so you never know. Going for new would have been the choice but cant wait 6 months for the car to show up
