Bosch Battery venting

Purchased a new Bosch battery (S4 096) to replace my original BMW one.

The leaflet provided with it said to remove both vent plugs, however the car only has a breather for one! The original bmw battery had the other vent hole plugged.

Any reason why the Bosch needs both removed?

Thanks
