2007 335i

I'm looking to purchase a 2007 335i fully loaded with sport package. The drawback, it has 80k miles on it but was dealer maintained from new. Anything to look for, would it be wise to purchase this car? I'm new to BMW, coming from an Audi/Vw background. I currently have a b7 S4 I'm thinking about trading. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Stay away from high mileage 07 and 08 335i's. The warranty for the faulty fuel pump goes out at 120k and from there you will be royally screwed.

They are asking 18k, fully loaded with nav and back up sensors. I'm not sure if the fuel pump was replaced. I emailed the dealer today where the car was originally purchased and service up to 75k miles. Still waiting for a response.

I have an 07 I havent had any problems with mine ive put 20,000 miles on it in the year ive owned, it HPFP was replaced before i bought it, not other problems besides the surpentine belt. But dont rush it, maybe you can find something cheaper, or same price with lower miles.

If the fuel pump hasn't been replaced by 120k, its probably not faulty. That is a very generous warranty period from BMW, IMO

Garage List
Ask the dealer to provide you with an entire service record printout. Look for high pressure fuel pumps (I had 5 on my '07), low pressure fuel pump, water pump, fuel injectors, vanos solenoid (and possibly camshaft bearing ledges), and coil packs. Suspension parts start to get soft at that mileage, too. Also check to see if it was a lemon law buy back (not necessarily a bad thing but find out why) because BMW bought a lot of '07s back from litigious owners.

If it's been well maintained and clean title, go for it. Not a bad deal for 18k...

Went to Munich and picked mine up March 2007. Now 55K miles and the only issue I have ever had to include my original battery is a glove box solenoid...end of story.

If the dealer shows this car has had normal maintenance which by the way the HPFP should have been replaced in 2009-2010 as a BMW precaution and reprogramming of the DME it is a bullet proof car.

Having owned BMWs to 284K miles if you do the maintenance work required they don't let you down.

You are getting bad advice is someone tells you to pass on high mileage BMWs is they have had no problems.

However that said you do need more maintenance which you already know if you own an Audi.

I can tell you right now that this is the list of things that should or has been done because at 80K miles that is when the car needs a lot of consumable parts:
brake pads and rotors
struts and shocks
diff fluids
trans flush
brake flush
coolant change
a few minor others.

Just so you know these are the most likely items that will need attention.
Your Audi should be in about the same boat if at this mileage too.

Again don't be afraid to jump on this car but eyes wide open when you do...

My friend just picked up a 2007 335i with only 43000 miles for 18k so they are definitely out there for cheaper. Although his doesn't have nav.

^ That car is a "re-acquired" unit - essentially a buyback. I've got one for sale, though - take a look here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=788016

At that price point, he sure won't find anything much worth buying.

That's about like the one I just bought, I don't have sport tho. I had found another at the same time, but it had 60k, so I went for less miles.
