clunk noise after lowering

I'm getting a clunk noise almost every time I stop and when I turn. Mind you my car is lowered and I just installed kw v1 with adjustable end links.

Also I notice my car drives differently every time I stop it feels as if my car stutters

Anyone might know what the clunk noise is?

How low is your car? You may have a rodent or small child caught underneath...

Actually I have no clue, how much lower are you and for how long have you been lowered? Did you have an alignment done after lowering?

You have to be careful when lowering AWD cars... you can throw the suspension geometry (more so than a RWD) out of alignment and decrease the amount of time wear/tear will set in. I would have someone put that on a rack ASAP.

My steering wheel shakes alot at 40-80 and my wheels are balanced could this be one reason?

I though it was a spring noise also but it happens sometimes when I stop also.

i did tighten them ill lift up the car to double check that could be a cause for the pop noise but that wouldnt explain the steering wheel shaking

you check your lugs? i have air tools at home and i once forgot to double check to make sure the air gun (air was almost gone and hadn't recharged the compressor yet) tightened the lugs completely. so i assumed they were on tight. drove around and steering wheel wobbled like crazy. went and checked my lugs and they were finger loose.

Go back and check each bolt. Also, look up torque specs for your suspension components. I had the same problem after lowering my last car, and it tuned out that the bolt that went through my shocks/struts weren't torqued to spec and were actually loose when they looked and felt tight. After tightening, it was perfect!

I have this same issue... When I come to a stop it would clunk quite loudly. I heard it could be the steering rack... But also heard it could be the sway bar links...

Seething about having to re adjust them after lowering theM?

did you re-tighten everything after driving it for about 500 miles? i use to have a clunk noise while stopping and going over bumps, then i re-torqued everything and the top hat nuts were a little loose after a week of settling ..

I had my dealership install the M Performance suspension in my car. I noticed a clunk noise in the same situations as you describe. When I brought it in to be fixed, I was told they improperly reinstalled the sway bar. Something about not weighing the ends of something down with sandbags first... or something.

Sorry for the vagueness, I haven't done much suspension work myself other than replacing shocks and leaf springs back in the day.

I found this video.... This is the noise I get.

It only happens when turning full lock and stopping. Then when I reverse in full lock it does it too. It will only do it once.

Very similar to the noise in this video

A friend of mind said the ball joints could create this noise...?

He said the drop links etc are not adjustable... So they wouldn't make a difference?

Just had my car inspected.

There is far too much play on the lower control arm bushes. Everything else seems very solid. But they are very worn.

I am sure this is why I am experiencing the clunking noise, squeezing over little bumps and bouncyness whilst accelerating through a fast tight corner.

I will report back once I have the bush replaced
