I just installed Öhlins and they ride even better than stock with greatly increased performance. Highly recommended.

Did you run the supplied springs?

I'm currently running it with the supplied springs and I would agree at 20 clicks from the hardest setting, it does have a decent ride quality.

And yes, with the supplied springs...

I went with Swift Springs 336F/672R. Others including Alpina have used supplied kit springs with good success. For a daily driver where ride comfort is important I'd just go with the kit springs.

I ran standard M-sport suspension on my E91, then replaced with Koni yellow sports and Eibach springs, and adjusting to midway damping position found them to be way, way more comfortable than the M-sport stuff.

Infact, for me, the suspension was too soft, so have replaced with Ohlins DFV, custom spring rates (350/700), uprated anti-roll bars and all M3 replacement arms and bushes. The ride is now far more controlled, not harsh or hard, but has an extremely controlled and quality feel about it. Far nicer than stock.
