Problems installing OEM E92 328i M-Sport rear

Hello everyone, I got my M-Sport rear bumper back from the paint shop today and decided to install it.
Took the old bumper off my car which was no problem at all:

I removed the old lower bumper guide and tried to install the M-Sport one (part number 51128044375). The problem is that the holes from the new M-Sport bottom center guide and the stock carbon canister cover don't align:

Stock bumper guide vs. M-Sport bumper guide:

On the last picture circled in orange you can see that the stock carbon canister cover is a little too long for the M-Sport rear.
Do I need a M-Sport carbon canister cover to make everything fit?
What am I doing wrong here? Can anyone help me out?

A little update:
In order to install the M-Sport rear bumper kit for E92 328i's you will need a special carbon canister cover. The problem was finding the right part number. Even the dealer couldn't find it since it wasn't listed in their EPC. I went ahead and checked the European 325i and 330i and those models have a special M-Sport carbon canister cover listed in the EPC. The correct part number is 51758044374.
So if anyone with a 328i Coupe wants to upgrade to an M-Sport rear you will need that trim piece.
I installed everything today and this is the result
