I went with 50/35, I'd like to see the curb while I park at night.

Mine is silver with black interior and I'm really happy with 20%. A little darker than "legal" but you can still see in the car so I don't anticipate any issues.

I did 20% all around on mine, except for the windshield of course. Never had any problems with the cops and I live in an area where cops are bored as fuck. I thought about 35% but its way to light, would have been very upset with it. But any tint makes the car look cleaner imo. Good luck with your selection.

Here's two different views so you can get an idea.

unless you want protection from the heat then tint, otherwise I would stay classy without any tint.. i have a tinted car and I hate it. i like the clean blue glass look.

I live in a city that rains over 60% of the time. Climate is not hot either. The reason I'm getting the tint is for the LOOKS, not for practical use - blocking sun etc. (maybe some backseat action hahah).

Do you guys think it is smart to just tint for the looks and not for practical use?

Depending on where you are, the "street test" for tint is to make you hold your DL up to the driver's window. If they can't read your name from the other side - Ticket. I bought my E91 with 95% or some stupid thing up front (almost completely clear) and maybe 35% in the back. I ripped that all off, went 23% all around, looks MUCH better.

Probably 75% of everything in this forum is for looks alone!
Wheels, bumpers, smoked lights, LCI conversions...
Do what you think looks good, don't worry about what "the committee" thinks!

Go to the doctor for light induced migraines, and get a doctors note to allow your windows to be tinted.

I have 30% all around but it's legal here in Florida. Tint isn't just for looks down here!

It depends on your state, but I think 35% all around would be perfect.
Granted it would be mostly for looks but over time it'll still help protect your interior from what little sun you get.

35% all the way around on my new 335is, and e90 was also 35% all the way around.. Dark interior makes huge difference, old car with black interior tint looked a lot darker. The is has oyster interior and it really brightens it up.. Tint looks even cooler. I still find it difficult to see out st night when mirrors are dimmed. Both cars were done by advanced solar in ocean county, Don is a super guy to deal with, Beemer fanatic as well..
