Aftermarket fuel injectors?
Hello,
I'm pretty sure they don't have aftermarket ones, but this website is saying the universal ones work? Can soneone please explain why these wont work with our n54 motors? Thanks. http://www.autopartsway.com/PartList.../Fuel_Injector

If they have the same form/fit/finish, injector opening time, flow rate, connections, etc, they might work.
Injectors aren't really documented like spark plugs. You're going to have a hard time finding generic ones unless they are marked for your application. Mind you, all of those Holley ones are out of stock, so it makes it eaier to decide. ![]() |

Good luck. I cancelled my order because they're back ordered.

lol. Yeah, Injectors for my 2009 Universal. Sweet!
Please do some reading about the N54 engine and how it works, and why 'universal' injectors dont' work.

For one thing, N54 (and N55) engines use DIRECT INJECTION, which implies piezo-electric devices for extremely high fuel pressures directly into the combustion chamber, not into the intake manifold as with the non-turbo N52 engine (as an example). Holley, while famous for carburetion and other fuel-system related parts in the American car market, likely does not make piezo injectors that will work with a BMW engine. Note that every one of those parts listings says "universal" and not car-specific. While they may be similar, I certainly wouldn't put "universal" injectors in my $16K German engine. For one thing, replacing injectors requires "coding" them according to the numbers on the injector body, and it's highly unlikely that these would work at all, let alone give you any kind of performance advantage. Bosch, on the other hand, would be where you'd want to look, but they're not going to be cheap.

Visit the site that discuss this and a lot of other performance parameters and you will get answers there to include larger flowing injectors...
Just search bmw boost sites. Not sure if we are allowed to post the site |

I ended up buying stock ones from ECS. Also, I searched and searched, could not find any larger ones sold for our cars?

Larger injectors aren't going to net you more power. You'd need to remap the PCM to handle them.
Unless you have found them flatlining at WOT, there would be no point to even look for larger ones. |
