A BMW dealer will give you one based on the registration plate/vin number.

I had to get a replacement a few weeks back and it was under 8.50.

It should be in the tray at the right of the boot. Other people stick them in the glove compartment.

Toolbox on right hand side of the boot is the second key. If its missing you'll have to go to bmw - they should be able to get the part number from your VIN.

Garage List
If you open the boot, look on the right hand side and there's a grey cover that lifts off and it should be under there, that's where mine was on my e90

There is a little tray on top that you lift without removing enough to see the battery.
