Performance diffuser on LCI E92 mounting question

I apologize if this has been answered before, but I tried searching and couldn't find an answer.

My 2012 335i E92 was rear ended last week and I have the option of replacing my M-Sport rear bumper & diffuser with the BMW Performance diffuser / 335is rear diffuser.

Now I've read that the performance diffuser requires trimming on M-Sport rear bumper, is this true even for LCI M-Sport? I can't imagine BMW having to trim the bumper to attach that diffuser on the 335is.

Is there maybe a BMW part# that has the bumper with the diffuser in a package or already attached? I found the part number for just the diffuser on the BMW website, but I didn't see a 335is full rear bumper with diffuser option.

I'd rather not have the body-shop start trimming my brand new rear bumper, if that's the case I'll probably just go with the standard M-Sport again.

Thanks for the replies.

Mine required zero trimming. Assuming you are getting an OEM bumper. Search google for the installation instructions and you can see what is involved.

If I recall correctly, only the e90 has to be trimmed. You should be good to go if you're going with an oem diffuser. The only time I heard of someone needing to trim on an e92 was for an aftermarket diffuser that was a bit off in fitment.

e92 should be a simple swap without any modification.

I dont know about e92. But indeed my e90 needed some trimming to fit the performance diffuser.
