Post headlight on the driver side not moving

Hi all
I have just noticed that my headlight on the driver side is not moving but the passenger side does when I make a left turn or the right turn. Is it normal or my headlight motor on the driver side has a problem...How is about your drive....

Shouldn't that trigger some sort of malfunction code ?

It would if the actually motor that controls the headlights is NG.

I had a problem where the motor arm popped out of the socket on the headlight. SO the motor was still working fine it just wasn't attached to the headlight.
Check this out, might be your problem...

It's normal, I thought I had the same problem, but it's for safety when you are at a stop light for the oncoming drivers, it works perfectly fine when your moving. Unless your having some other serious problem.

wolf 335 and e90_bootsjunky: you are right, when you are driving, steering left or right will tilt the headlight as well. However, when I am in parking mode, headlight ONLY works when turning the wheel to right and back. Is it about the safety or else ......
Does the headlight work in the opposite way with right hand driving ( UK and colony of UK ) ???

I could be wrong, but I've been under the impression that US model BMWs that are equipped with Adaptive Headlights make sure the DRIVER'S side headlight will not turn to the left if the car is turned to the left.

The reasoning behind it, I believe, is because if you are on the shoulder of the road, and you pull back into traffic, the driver's side headlight stays centered so you don't blind oncoming traffic.
