you pay 999.99, they send you a brand new LSD to install into YOUR differential housing(diff, pumpkin w.e you wanna call it)
you now have a Differential with LSD.
the only time that there are core charges is when you want said company to install there LSD into a differential housing for you. then once you receive your new housing with LSD,you send your old one back to them and get your money refunded.

about what would be the approximate charges to get this installed at your facility?

This would be for one of the welded ones down the line.

Thanks! and keep up the good work mfactory!

I would be interested in bolt on 3.46 ring gear if you decide to make it, it's a good upgrade for those with single turbo conversion to reduce turbo lag.

For the welded guys, besides the slight extra cost for the new ring & pinion that we are making (which will be offered at substantial discount when purchased as a "package" with the lsd), there is no difference in "install costs" between welded and bolted.

Our current rate for transmission/pumpkin overhaul is $400 regardless whether it is welded or bolted and, unlike most places who will build your pumpkin for you, we disassemble and recondition it back to "as new" condition for you: http://www.teammfactory.com/installa...vicing_process

If the LSD was purchased from us, then we will not charge you $400; it would be substantially less (if we even decide to charge you at all). This is, of course, excluding oem parts costs such as bearings and seals.

if you cant afford $300 then this car might not be the car you should be modifying.
I think you're confusing the difference between being able to afford something and saving money on a similar product. If it saves you $300 and performs as well as other options why not purchase it?

Typically the people that have lots of money are the ones that do proper research instead of blindly buying a product because it has a popular name.

Being able to afford something and being smart about your money are two different things. I think OP is doing the latter.

even then it is still no where near 2500 like he says...even if you didn't get the 799.99 price,at 999.99+500 for install(new fluid and OEM seals) like my shop quoted me im still under 2000 so this is an amazing deal for me to say the least.

I got the $800 deal. Shop quoted me $600 for the install.
Total $1400 is a STEAL for an installed LSD!

I'm confused, so you're saying we can send the pumpkin to you for a rebuild and lsd install?

Ok some questions:

I am based in the UK are these diffs available here ? If so where ?

Is there one available for DCT, or is that the welded variety ?

Cheers

All bolted LSD's are in stock and ready to ship. At present, they ship directly from our overseas logistics office, as our stock container hasn't arrived at our US facility yet.

The DCT fitment is under development, and yes, it is welded.

Nice. Can't wait to see the welded set up. Ha I'd gladly volunteer to be a guinea pig for it..

We already have the LSD for the MT large welded diff; it's just the ring & pinion we need to make. There are already people on this forum (and others) that have successfully installed our LSD and so far are happy with it

I'm not sure about Wavetrac but I know that when subframe bushes are upgraded to M3 or other, the Quaife LSD can sometimesinvoke a slight vibration when driving. There is a thread about it somewhere. By all accounts not much can be done about it. This has been confirmed by Birds in the UK.

It will be interesting to see if the MFactory LSD's suffer from this also when installed with upgraded/stiffer subframe bushes.

That's an effect of the bushings though, not the diff. I have yet to hear a silent diff with somewhat stiff subframe bushes. Hell my Z4 is bone stock and the diff whines...

welded rear

Forgive me if I flat over looked it but years and models have the welded rear end?

I'm interested for sure. I have a 2011 335I M-sport Auto Trans. if MFactory is making one for my ride put me down for one.

TIA
Andy
