pothole season

Dag I hit the biggest pothole I've ever hit in 6 yrs. of having the 335i, it's like the right-front of the car fell into a manhole and came back out......so bad I decided to get out of the car and look when it was safe. I found a scuff on the rim (225/40-18 snows), which I don't mind since they're my snows.

I drove to work @ 85-90 just to see what's up, and nothing was pulling or shaking. Hopefully, the prognosis will be the same after work.

I have no TPMS and I left my gauge at home.....

Ik man smh......I hit one in the middle of the highway a few weeks ago and I just knew it was a wrap. But when I got out to check(finally) I was good no shakes no jerking or anything. I was totally surprised!!!! To say the least. I hate the ones u can't see coming well I'm glad u was all good besides the rim scuff. That's really what's good!!!

There are some asteroid craters posing as potholes on my commute downtown every day, sometimes you just can't avoid them. Every now and then I'll hit one where I truly feel bad for my car, it's beyond infuriating.

Agree. I've noticed few new potholes emerging this week in NJ.
Yesterday, driving on a different route than usual, I avoided a lot of potholes.
And then at some point my wife said, Wow we just escaped a big pothole, I said what...then lol...i didnt see that pothole. Maybe it was not in my line of sight. But the thought was scary for 19'' low profiles.

Hit one in summer, 200 miles away from home. Bent rim, popped tire, fender was crooked and windshield cracked

Looks like all is ok, the lip has no bend in it, and the air pressure is normal...I truly felt bad for my car, it was so extreme, never had one that bad....then I thought about that situation where the PS pulley can hit the subframe....shucky darns!!!!

Gonna be worse after this shit storm we just had. Like John said, at least I have my 18 inch winter wheels on.

I hit a pothole a couple weeks ago and was originally quote 4700 bucks in damage -headlight had obviously been messed up, and I was told the front suspension would need major repairs, so I decided to put it on my insurance. At various stages I was told that the front left control arms and strut needed to be replaced, and the left rim needed to be replaced.

When I told them I had the BMW wheel warranty, the wheel magically healed itself, and somehow the front suspension got better as well after the adjustor showed up... however, after they did an alignment, my rear control arms needed replacing.

The final price was $2700. Had they quoted me that in the first place, I probably wouldn't have gone through my insurance.

I am a bit miffed with my dealership.

I guess you haven't seen the Cross Bronx Expressway. That highway is awful.
