Free wire under the hood- - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Hi,

I am not sure if this is right area to post or not. If not please feel free to move it to correct area.

I have this free wire hanging out in engine bay not connected to anything. I do not have any clue where this wire supposed to be connected and purpose. Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, I bought this used car 2 weeks ago, so I do not know much about it yet!

That is the wire you connect to the hood sensor for the alarm. There is a few threads about this.

you can put it back in its place right next to that black box in the picture. there should be a little black plastic post and there should be a metal piece on that wire with teeth. just push it on.
