E85 EWR Airport

Ethanol guys, do yourself a favor next time you fill up at the Newark airport gulf...pump the gas yourself.

I guess the attendant was having a bad day, but in a matter of 5 minutes so was I.

Asked him to put in 4 gallons of E85. My sister whom I just picked up from the airport says to me "Didn't you ask for 4 gallons? Because you're up over $40"

So whatever, not going to give the guy hell about it, everybody makes mistakes.

After my nervous drive home, I see the gas door was never closed.

As I go to close it, I notice that the fuel cap is missing too. FML.

I guess you live and learn. At the very least I'll never sit in the car when I'm fueling up in states that don't let you pump yourself.

Anyway, should I have the tank drained or am I ok if I drive her easy for a while?

dunno about e85, but you might throw a code for driving without the cap.

I'm not too worried about the cap, hopefully Tischer gets mine out today and I'll get it tomorrow.

It just sucks that this fill up wound up costing me $25 more lol

How much E85 total was put into the car and how much regular gas? I see you're running Cobb, you can just bump up the fuel scalar using ATR to accommodate for the extra E85. Most likely your fuel trims are maxed out trying to keep AFR's in check. I had the same rough idle when that happened.

Thank you man, I had a 1/4 tank of E30 blend when I filled up, so today I added another 10 gallons of E85.

I'm not at all familiar with ATR but I will look into it now. Better than my plan of driving around the neighborhood all night until I got down to a 1/2 tank

Assuming you have a 15.8gal tank, that should put you around E61. Corresponding scalar value for that is 1.272. The scalar values table is on the last page of the help file in ATR. You can use this calculator to find out the E% : http://www.intercepteft.com/calc.html

You'll need to email Cobb for the installer as it's tied to your DME version and AP serial number. Just one thing to note, when you change the scalar don't forget to do it for both banks.

Thx a lot for your help brother, I may be PM'ing you a bit later once Cobb sends me over the ATR program.
